Pyotr Dubovets was born on January, 19 1931 in v. Prudiets (Tolochinski district of Vitebsk region).

He graduated from Law faculty, BSU in 1955.

After graduation from Law faculty, BSU he worked as an investigator of Retchitsa district prosecutor's office (Gomel region) and as an investigator of Rogachov inter-district prosecutor's office (Gomel region).

From October 1958 till September 1963 he took postgraduate course in the Academy of Sciences of BSSR, after that he was a junior research worker of the abovementioned establishment.

Since September 1979 he has been working at the Criminal Law Department of Law faculty, BSU as an Associate Professor, then Professor (since September 2008).

In 1962 Pyotr Dubovets defended candidate's thesis “Responsibility for bodily harm according to Criminal Law of the Soviet Union”.

The total number of his publications is 40 including 3 monographs, 3 textbooks, 5 course books and 5 Science and Practical Commentaries on Criminal Code (1979, 1989, 2003, 2007, 2010).

He was awarded with a medal “Labour Veteran”
