I. Dorogin, who in 1954 headed the department and who directed it for 18 years. He has published over 50 scientific works.

From 1972 to 1989 department was headed by Doctor of Law, professor, Honoured Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus

S. Drobiazko. He has published 135 scientific works, including 7 monographs and 15 brochures. He participated in the amendment drafting of the three constitutions (the Soviet Union 1977, the BSSR 1978, The Republic of Belarus 1994). Engaged the foundation for improving the domestic theory of law. He is a member of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda, Co-Scientific Advisory Council of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus.

Since 1989 to 2008 department was headed by Doctor of Juridical Science, professor, Honoured Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus

A. Abramovich. Author of more than 200 scientific works, including 5 monographs. At the same time he worked as Deputy Head of Presidential Administration, member of the Certification Commission for certification of senior executives of the Republic of Belarus. Developed the concept of constitutional change in the Republic of Belarus in 1996. Coordinated the drafting of new codes of the country. Coordinate the legislative activities in the Republic of Belarus. He Is Chairman of the Commission of Pardons and Chairman of the Commission on Citizenship under the President of the Republic of Belarus. Express the idea of building an effective state in the Republic of Belarus. In 1991–1992 – a member of the USSR Constitutional Oversight Committee, in 1992–1996 – Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.

S. Kalinin. Author of more than 150 scientific works. Repeatedly collaborated with the National Centre of Law Drafting Activities under the President of the Republic of Belarus in the development and preparation of expert opinions, comments and suggestions to the draft regulations. Member of the Working Group on the concept of improvement of legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

I. Juho worked at the Department, who has published over 200 scientific works, including 13 monographs and 16 textbooks. He participated in the preparation of the Constitution of 1994. He is a founder of the school history of the state and law in Belarus. Developed a course on the history of the state and law in Belarus, which first began to read law at the Belarusian State University since 1963.

T. Dovnar works at the Department, who has published over 200 scientific works including 6 monographs and 10 textbooks. Took part in creating a school history of the state and law in Belarus. She is the scientific secretary of the Scientific Council of Belarusian State University Law School.
