Valentin N. Mataras

He was born on February 4, 1960.
He graduated from the Law Faculty of the BSU in 1986.
In 1995 after completing a post-graduate course in Law at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus he was awarded PhD in Law for the thesis "Legal aspects of executive power in the Republic of Belarus".
Prior to joining the BSU, he worked as a research officer at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences.
Since 1998 he has been working at the Law faculty of the BSU.
He lectures on History of Political and Legal Doctrines.
He has received several awards from the state in recognition of his professional achievements.
His research interests lie in national political and legal thought, civilization approach to the essence of state system, development of state and law in time and space, the problem of law comprehension.
He has authored more than 55 research papers, course-books and training manuals.
