English Language Unit




Head of the English Language Department for the Humanitarian Faculties is Lyudmila Vladimirovna Khvedchenya, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogics.
Highly-qualified, experienced teachers train future lawyers in foreign professional communication. Among them - 3 associate professors, Candidate of Sciences degree holders, 2 docents, 6 senior teachers. The Unit has been headed by associate professor Olga Ivanovna Vasyuchkova for 30 years.




The teaching staff are proud of their ground works in teaching law students English for professional application. The following course books and manuals have been incorporated into the academic process:

• English-Russian Terminological Dictionary;
• Assessment Tests;
• Teachers’ Book.

Students’ knowledge is tested in e-University system.
Special attention is paid to the provision of post-graduates with academic English learning material. «English for Post-Graduates», published in 2013 is a helpful resource for those who sit for a candidate exam in English.
The teachers of the Unit are active participants of scientific, international, republican and university conferences.



One of the significant directions in the Unit’s work is students’ extracurricular activity.
Respect for students, desire to enrich their language experience, learner’s centered approach are the main strategies of teaching English at the Law Faculty.
