Svetlana Parechina

 Parechina Svetlana G.Svetlana Parechina is a Candidate of Political Sciences and holds the position of an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science. She graduated from the Department of Political Science, Law Faculty, Belarusian State University in 1997.

She defended her thesis «Presidency in the political system of the society: comparative analysis » in 2001.

She worked at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus since 2003 to 2009.

Since 2009 she has been working at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law at the BSU.

She lectures in Political Science, The Bases of Ideology of the Belarusian State, Political System and Governance in Belarus (author's course). Her scholarly interests focus on questions of governance, electoral systems and political systems.

Her most significant book is «Institution of Presidency: History and Present» (2003).

Institution of Presidency: History and Present.
The author explores the genesis of the presidency, revealing the features of various countries and regions. The book puts forward a new approach to assessing the role and place of the presidency in the political system of transforming countries. It is recommended to politicians, statesmen, scientists, teachers and students of humanities, to all those who are interested in the role of head of state in the political system of society.
